November 10, 2018 - Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Center
As I have promised, here is short a video of Amari and Lori, the two macaques we rescued from Angkor. Both have made a remarkable recovery and are in good health, as you can see. We need to keep Amari in a small cage during the time we are unable to give her direct supervision, because she is blind. For the same reason we cannot keep her with other macaques. However she is very happy to have the company of her daughter, Lori, once again and we give them the opportunity to enjoy some time outside their enclosure when we can. After she has been outside for a while Amari sometimes gets a little concerned due to her lack of vision and we then return her to the safety of her cage.
Me and my staff have a great deal of work with our wildlife rescue, care and release programs and daily updates are not possible, but we will keep you informed of the progress of these two as we are able. Lori was in very bad shape when she arrived with us. She was totally blind and immobile and now has reasonable vision and is able to get about quite well, as you can see. Her future seems bright. Her Mother, Amari, is blind and elderly, with the problems that this brings with it. We will always do our best for her and she is contented now, but her time is probably limited. Thank you all for your interest and support, without which we could not continue with our task to crack down on the extremely cruel illegal wildlife trade and ensure that the animals we rescue receive an appropriate outcome. My very best wishes to you all. Nick

We’ve received many inquiries recently about when Amari and Lori will be placed in an enclosure together. Even our Director spoke to our nursery team this week about this subject, and he was very satisfied with their response. The nursery team does not believe Lori is strong or coordinated enough yet to be placed in a larger enclosure. At this point in time, they do not wish to risk potential further injury. We appreciate all of their fans want to see them reunited, as do we, however even our Director defers to the experts, our nursery keepers, when it comes to the care of all of our infant primates. So, for the time being, we will all just have to continue to wait!

Lori Update
Still coming along and leaps and bounds little Lori is doing well. It’s great to see the progression in her condition as she goes from moving around her enclosure at the ground level only to now climbing up and down the branches placed inside. Occasionally she still slips and falls, which is why it’s important she builds her strength and coordination in a smaller enclosure first before we consider moving her.
Amari Update
No new diagnosis updates yet. She’s been provided with parasite control and some vitamins and is still undergoing some further diagnostics. Despite this, the team is still happy with how she’s progressing and she certainly seems content as long as she’s receiving regular meals! Despite loving all of her afternoon snacks, as seen here in this video, it’s become quite evident she’s not a fan of sweet potatoes as she drops these on the ground for the Keeper’s to clean up!

Amari Update
As always, Amari is happily stuffing herself with all food presented to her! Here she is enjoying her ‘monkey breakfast’ a meal of peanuts, sweet potatoes and a bit of rice to provide extra carbohydrates and protein and encourage foraging behavior! She still has not put on weight despite a well balanced and nutritious diet and is undergoing further diagnostics. Despite this, she is still bright, more and more comfortable with her surroundings! We will keep you updated on her condition.
[/fusion_gallery]Lori Update
Lori’s tail injury is fully healed and the hair is starting to grow back. She is getting regular exercise outside of the enclosure under the close supervision of staff. Her strength and coordination continue to improve. The caretaking staff is very happy with her progress. Lori would like to pass on her thanks to her adoring fans for your continued support!

The girls are both doing really well! Lori’s cognitive function continues to improve daily and she is now communicating with the Keepers. Her tail is still healing and quite sensitive, however, the vets are happy with the progression. Amari’s voracious appetite shows no signs of diminishing and we’re starting to see her put on weight and body condition, which is a good sign. She’s very keen on inspecting anyone who approaches her enclosure, mostly checking if you’re bringing treats!

Amari & Lori FAQs
1. Lori’s eyesight. It appears to be improving. We suspect her loss of sight was associated with her head injury rather than her eyes themselves. Fingers crossed for further recovery.
2. Amari & Lori sharing enclosures or being housed next door to each other. This is not currently possible. Given Lori’s current condition she is not strong enough to be in a larger enclosure like Amari or the same style of enclosures next to her. Perhaps in the future, only time will tell.
3. Lori sharing an enclosure with other juvenile Macaques. This is also not currently possible given her condition. We do not want to risk any possible further injury or any undue psychological stress. Again, perhaps in the future, this may be possible. We will continue to assess as she progresses.
4. Visiting Amari & Lori. For the foreseeable future, both girls will remain in our nursery section which is not accessible to the public. This is to ensure they are receiving round the clock care from our dedicated nursery keeping staff. We will keep you posted if or when this changes.
Day to day they both continue to improve, grow stronger, and we are very happy with their progress thus far. Both girls are very sweet and you can see their relationship with the keepers evolving as they build trust and become familiar with them.
Don’t forget you can support their ongoing care by donating to ‘Care for Rescued Wildlife’ via the button below.

Amari’s blood samples confirmed heightened blood sugar levels and our vets are drawing up a treatment plan. She continues to eat all the food put in front of her and is gaining weight, all good signs!

Lori is also settling well, the wound on her tail healing slowly. She is moving and feeding herself on her own and gaining strength each day though she will need much more strength before she can join Amari in the larger enclosure.
For now, Lori is in a small enclosure so that she does not suffer any falls causing more damage while she heals from the many injuries to her spine and leg.
The girls are close and under constant supervision from nursery staff as they recover.
Let’s hope each day brings them a little more strength!
September 8-9, 2018 -Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Center
Firstly we would sincerely like to say ‘THANK YOU’ to everyone who has donated to Amari & Lori’s care at Phnom Tamao. We truly appreciate your support.
Both girls continue to do well.
Lori continues to grow stronger every day and we continue to see small improvements in her condition daily, particularly her mobility. She is certainly a fighter!
Amari has settled in very well and is quite comfortable in her new abode. She’s got quite the appetite and we’re pleased to report is happily licking her plate clean at every meal!
Looking forward………it is highly likely that both Amari & Lori will continue to require ongoing care for the rest of their lives. It would appear as though they are unlikely to ever fully recover and as such we will continue to provide them refuge. Our goal at Wildlife Alliance is always releasing, and we are proud to say we are able to release approximately 80% of the animals that are donated to us or confiscated. However not all animals are fit for release back into the wild, due to either physical or psychological conditions, and Phnom Tamao provides those individuals with a safe place to call home. It is likely that both Amari & Lori will become permanent residents however we will be sure to keep you updated on any changes.
Thank you again for your support and also your understanding. We hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend and we’ll be back Monday with the next update!

Amari climbed the small structures in her enclosure and polished off all of hers quickly; a good sign showing she is comfortable in her new surrounds. Lori, though finding it difficult to feed herself, munched through her food with the help of her carers. We are happy with how the pair is showing good appetites! Hopefully, this will add to their strength, though they still have a long road to recovery.
September 6, 2018 -Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Center
Our most recent update: Amari is settling into her new home well and a treatment plan for her is being assessed. Her baby, Lori, is still under close supervision from nursery staff to ensure she does not hurt herself any further. Both have healthy appetites however, at this stage, it is too early to tell if Lori will be able to fully recover from her spinal injuries and nerve damage. Our vets have been giving them the best care they can from the moment they arrived at Phnom Tamao.
September 5, 2018
The Wildlife Rapid Rescue Team (WRRT) traveled to the temples of Angkor to rescue a female macaque and her infant, known as Amari and Lori.
The monkeys were donated to the team by a concerned individual who had them under his care after noticing the pair’s poor health and removing them from the forest to care for them.
The WRRT have successfully taken the monkeys to Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Center, where they will be assessed and treated by our veterinary staff. The youngster, Lori, is being provided treatment and is in critical condition. Amari is doing well and has already eaten up the fruits and vegetables provided in her new enclosure. They will remain under 24 hour supervision by our nursery staff.
If you would like to donate towards Amari and Lori’s care, please make a donation to “Care for Rescued Wildlife” and mention the Angkor monkeys in the comments.
I emailed you yesterday and I have one last request. Do you have the time to give me a brief reply? I would appreciate it very much. Thanks in advance.
Everybody from all over the world worried about Lori, can you PLEASE give us a few information?
For everyone to help have to be transparent, post videos of Amari and Lori. We have been following their stories on Youtube for several months, and we would like to help, but we have to have nocicias with video of her, as well as treatment done for them. From Brazil

Hello WildlifeAlliance As many are I am so happy that Amari and Lori have been put in your care. I am looking forward to your updates on the them. I hope Lori comes out of critical condition. She is a fighter. When Sochhun Ley from Angkor Wat called for help for these 2 did he give you the history of her traumas? I suspect he would have so you know what is best for her care. Will you stay in contact with Sochhun Ley on progress as well, whether she will be able to return to Angkor Wat if she fully recovers? I would greatly appreciate your response to my inquiries. Please know I will be donating to your most kind Organization. Thank you so much to all the staff of Wildlife Alliance.
Amari and Lori have been brought to your facility. It was so good to know where they are. Lori has had so much happen to her. She had just recovered from another head incident, she recovered well after staying with the vet as he pulled her through. Please, is it possible for you to post updates on Lori. We have followed her and Amari for a long time.
Someone please get handprints of Lori and Amari. Especially Lori before it is to late. I would love copies to be put on t shirts that you could sell to raise awareness of the plight of these MONKIES in Am for. Please don’t let them die in vain when they could be ambassadors to the plight of these amazing creatures. Love and miss you Lori and Amari. Praying for Lori’s life.?❤?
Joanna Flores: Wonderful idea.
What a lovely idea….it made me cry!! I would buy a box full!!
Awesome idea, Joanna!!!!
I definitely would want their handprints and would buy t-shirts or other items. I have already signed up to donate on a monthly basis. Lori is a real fighter. I believe that she would already be dead if she wasn’t.
Please let me know somehow about the handprints.
Joanna Flores: this is the sweet man you want who will help get that done if it is allowed and if he is there right now. He is a wonderful man. Just put attention to him your email. Anderson Cooper @ CNN has been there and may help as well?!

Paradis Life
I hope so too. I so badly need copy of the prints to help my heart heal.
Hello Sanctuary Vets and Staff,
Thank you for efforts to save Amari and Lori. I previously mentioned that Lori received BID injections of 2 to 4 different medications in the 3 days prior to her transfer to your facility. We don’t know, but the Vos can contact the gentlemen for help identifying the drugn ames. Hopefully; IV fluid will help flush her body. Please give Lori time…. she is a truly amazing and resilient little monkey. She loves life. I hope so much you can help her thrive again
Jeanne Colorado Cares
Jeanne Peters: It’s unfortunate that you mis spoke. That could actually negatively impact Lori and Amari’s care now. That was a shame that you felt you had to put incorrect information out there to complicate the effeorts of the good people involved in the care. Please give the complete information if you wish to be helpful. A qualified VET that’s works as a VET for Angkor Wat and was the treatment professional working with Lori and Amari in crisis, was treating her. I’m sure this wonderful organization and our EQUALLY WONDERFUL GENTLEMENT WHO FILM THEM AND THE VET WHO TREATED HER gave every last detail of information. If it were not for all the wonderful men and women of Angkor Wat who spent at least 36 hours and their own money to provide continuous crisis care for our beloved monkeys.
Prayers around the world for Lori and Amari!! Thank you so much for taking these two beloved ones into your care! They have brought so much joy into the homes of thousands around the world! I know they are getting the best care available but can you imagine how much it would help if each one of Lori and Amari followers donated just $25.00?!! Someone else on here suggested getting a hand print of Lori and Amari to have t-shirts made with the sale of them going to sponsor them both. We are ALL anxiously awaiting new updates on them both, so please send as soon as you can. Thank you again from us all!!
I miss you Lori so much. I wish you can make it…get better soon! We love you and we cry for you! Our little QUEEN.
Please give us an update on Lori and Amari. Especially that exceptional, beautiful, strong and resilient little monkey Lori I cry myself to sleep worrying about her.
… you cry yourself to sleep?! Is that a serious comment?? You need some serious help
I hope so too. I so badly need copy of the prints to help my heart heal.
I know, me too…so many hearts are broken all over the world. :(
Lori, prayer warriors are praying so hard for you right now. ?? You wanted your mommy with you, this is the perfect opportunity for you to pull through baby girl. I will never give up on you, you beautiful little monkey. You have inspired me in ways, that nobody else could reach.
I’m also from KY and if been watching sense Loris birth, I have seen that Lil monkey go through hell n back, I prey that she makes it through this n goes on to live a full happy life weather I can watch it or not. I left that she can get back to the happy lil monkey she once was,
Please keep Lori’s family updated on her condition please. Rosetta
I am from Cleveland , Tn. and I feel the same about Lori. I will never give up on her either. I just want her to get good care and have a chance to live her life. I will gladly buy some shirts with her prints on them. She is a fighter and I cannot get her off my mind. Think about her during the night and pray for her. God Bless our little Lori, our little princess warrior.
I began watching this little monk y at birth and have truly been transformed by her spirit. Of the many things she’s brought to me is “never give up”, he kind no matter, enjoy the moment, love when you can. Please understand that I know I am not alone. Many thousands of folks feel the same. I will be donating as I believe in Lori and have faith in God that He’ll do what’s necessary to help you do the right thing. Thank you from Kentucky.
I’m very happy for then and going to be in good hands, I love you Lory and Amari thanks.
I think they can lead a fairly normal life, with that being said.If this group gives them special care.My gratitude to all who have helped, loved, watch these monkeys.May God keep them safe. Many blessings to everyone.
Ir’s now 8.05a Thursday morning, your time, and I’m back here checking for any new updates. Is Lori still with us? One can hope. Miss Amari, I’m sure is eating you out of house and home, bless her heart! Something quite beautiful has come out of this tragic event. To read the comments of people all over the world who have come together with a common love for these two…is heart-warming. Most of the comments here express love and encouragement. By the way, thank you for your reply to my e-mail. I’ll check back again very soon for any updates. Blessings to you all…
Thank you for the update and I hope that you were made aware of Lori’s story…the whole history. She had already made a full recovery from being knocked completely unconscious in May. She had an enormous hematoma on the left side of her head and couldn’t walk or sit up. The same people who gave her to you this time took her home as well back then and, it appeared, brought her back to life. She stayed with them for a week and basically had to learn to walk again BUT SHE DID. And when she was returned to the troupe, she learned to climb trees again as well and to play and nurse and run and be a monkey. She is such a fighter…it was as if she had nine lives. PLEASE WATCH ALL OF HER VIDEOS TO SEE WHY THIS LITTLE GIRL IS so special. We don’t really know what happened this time, there was no video to show us. Thank you for caring for her and her mom. There is so much on YouTube about Lori…her entire history. We all love her so much and miss her already.
COULD YOU PLEASE PROVIDE US WITH ANY PICTURES OR VIDEO OF QUEEN AMARI AND PRINCESS LORI TO SEE HOW THEY ARE DOING? WE HAVE WATCHED THEM FOR SUCH A LONG TIME THAT IT IS LIKE THEY ARE A PART OF US. THEY REALLY DO MEAN SO MUCH TO US. WE LOVE AND CARE ABOUT THEM VERY MUCH. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU
Chaparra431 I know this is a dumb question, but did you see the second video at the top of the page? I believe this is about all they will be able to do is post one daily or so. Sorry if I am redundant. Love !
Hello there,
I am very happy you are helping Amari and Lori. ????? They stole MANY MANY of our hearts. I am just hoping and praying there will at the very least be updates. I am POSITIVE that if you can do videos, you would most certainly get MANY contributions, as these 2 ??, are cherished around the world. I do not think you are aware of the magnitude of impact Amari & Lori has made. ?????? I WILL GLADLY DO ANYTHING I CAN FOR THEM. PLEASE, don’t give up on these queens????????????
That is a wonderful idea, I have already started raising money to donate. I was wondering if I donated a live cam so they can videotape if they would accept that. My heart is breaking not knowing how they are doing.
Maybe you can email them directly and ask about the live cam. I had the same idea.
Zach: What a low self esteem one must have to put misinformation into an already complicated medical history. Sadly, you are saying something that couldn’t be FURTHER from the truth. The kindness and generosity of the men and women who film these monkeys and the on-call veterinarian did a wonderful thing giving these beauties a new beginning that is filled with love, trees, other monkeys and humans who genuinely want to add LOVE AND LIGHT to our world, not tear it down. So sorry you can join in on the joy we all feel the past few days, knowing these Queens are safe and loved.
We miss Lori, and Amari so much! But, we are glad that they will be well
taken care of at your Rescue. Poor little Lori, just since I have followed
them, had her foot broken by another monkey, fell from the tree on her
head when she was very young. Was hit very hard in the head with a bat
type of stick, that caused her Spinal injury, unable to walk for awhile, and
head so swollen. Miraculously, she recovered much better than anyone
thought considering the injuries. Then she fell on her little head from another
tree again, and seemed to get through with just another knot on her head.
She has been through more than any animal, or person ever should. And
then this last fall, and her delicate little fragile body just gave in. Lori is the
strongest little fighter, with so much willpower, and I truly pray that
she will survive, and thrive through this horrific trauma. And, mommie
Amari has had her share of injuries too, I pray that she too will
recover, and be with her little Lori…..they only have each other now,
Please post photo’s of them, hopefully together, and keep us all
Posted on their recoveries. We would all be so very appreciative
if you could do that as often as possible. Thank you for your
Help, and kindness to these beautiful girls! ? ? ?
Thank you so much for updating us with this video! We love all of you so much.
To Wildlife team: you are so sweet to explain you did not confiscate the mom and baby monkeys. I will communicate for our group of about 80 friends in our club, and we know that no matter what you do it is in the best interest of animals. We do love all of your animals also, but we are connected to a Amari and Lori very strongly. I have donated to your team and I will continue to spread that word to encourage others. But thank you so much for your sweet explanation above, yet I want you to know we do not blame you for anything; we know you can do no more than you are doing. We in my community all love you all.
I am grateful to the veterinarians and staff who are willing to give Lori every possible chance at survival. She may have been denied that choice in the care of some other veterinarians, had she been taken to one. It’s painstaking to care for an animal as severely injured as Lori. Especially when she will be left with physical deficits post acute treatment. These people are to be praised and supported. As for the meds Lori received prior to her coming there: I have a strong suspicion the man who “treated” her administered the same medications as he did during Lori’s prior CNS injury a few months ago. At that time she received Penstrip 20/20 and steroid injections. This appears to be his “stock treatment.” During this episode, this man was very careful to make sure all vials were turned as so their labels weren’t facing the camera. He covered the syringe barrel with his hand as he administered the medication, he didn’t want them to be identifiable nor the dosages. I’m sure this is because he was roundly criticized for her prior “treatment”. A video was produced claiming she received incorrect, harmful doses of Penstrip 20/20. I don’t know exactly which steroid he used this time but I believe it was the same one as before, and I don’t know the dosages for any of these meds. The injection sites were curious indeed, as was his injection “techinique”. He held her by the scruff with her legs dangling, and injected her multiple times this way. She squirmed significantly during these injections, she had no cervical support of any kind; it was if she was on display. She was given at least given at least 4 rounds per day, using 3 separate pre-filled syringes each time. I suspect she received multiple doses PO of some sort of analgesic. Perhaps one containing aspirin or acetaminophen. Unfortunately the capsules were taken from a plastic bag, crushed, and put into a bottle of milk. (perhaps this was Paracetamol?) I wish I could give you more exact information, however, this time he was very careful to make sure no one could identify anything he administered. He used the same needles repeatedly as well as using an IM needle to administer a Sub Q injection. Everything mentioned I personally observed. It is not my intention to misspeak. I’m encouraged to hear Lori is still with us, and that Amari is stable and adjusting well. Thank you again, for all that you’re doing on their behalf. I hope the information provided is of some help to you. Take care…
Thank you for the information. Before they were sent here, I was a firm believer that they should be humanely euthanized. I’m not criticizing but I just couldn’t understand how Amari could be treated without a sugar glucose test and Lori be treated without an X-ray at the very least, I understand that an MRI might be hard to come by but to treat a patient without knowing exactly what and the extent of the injury, especially one to the central nervous system just seemed irresponsible and dangerous.
I know that they will never be able to be released and that Lori will live with deficits the rest of her life. The central nervous system cannot repair itself or heal but thankfully other parts of the brain will compensate and adjust for other parts that are damaged.
I just wish the videographers wouldn’t interfere with nature. Many of the viewers dictate to them to do this and do that. Feed this one milk, don’t give that one any food, that baby should be taken from it’s mother, that mother never wanted that baby. Unfortunately it seems that many want to give them human qualities, emotions, and morals. They wish many would get a poisoned banana, get shoved into traffic, just today I read that they wanted a monkey named Polly to get smacked in the face because she was “Picking and bullying” a newborn named Timo. All because they are acting like monkeys and don’t display the characteristics of a human mother caring for a human baby.
Thank you once again for your insight. I wish Amari and Lori luck in their new life.
Thank you so much to all the kind people at the Wildlife Rescue Center. We appreciate the updates on Amari and Lori’s condition.
They have become very special to many people all around the world watching their videos.
I was happy to read Amari is doing well. I know you will be giving her a great diet with lots of greens. I thought it was a great idea
when one of the WRRT members used what we call Asian Cabbage to lure her into her transport box. If she is diabetic then sweet fruits of course should be just an occasional treat . I follow the same advice myself as I am Type II insulin dependent diabetic myself.
Please do not give up on Lori. I am sure you were told about the awful head injury she suffered a few months ago when she was bashed in the head
with a police baton. The local Videographers ( VO ) scooped her up and they and a local man gave her the best care they could. Just loke now she at first could barely stand or walk.
In time it seemed Lori’s brain had to create new neuro pathways and she had to learn to walk all over again. In time she learned to run and even to climb trees again. Climbing down took a little longer. So what I am saying is please give Lori time to heal. She has the heart of a Lioness and
Lori does not know how to spell the word ” FAILURE “, well mainly because macaques are generally very poor at spelling.
If you do not give up on her she will never give up on herself. I know most rescue centers do not generally encourage too much human contact
with their patients but could you please cuddle with her some if you can. Lori craves comforting from her mom but Amari because of her poor health
did not always have a lot of time for her baby. Lori would seek out cuddles lately from several senior females in the troop. If you have an older female who has lost her baby perhaps she could have daily visits with Lori. They could be a comfort to eachother possibly. I dont know if Lori would be too freaked out by visit from an outsider female. It is just a thought.
Thank you again for you kindness .
Bill D.
Thank you so much for your care you are giving this special pair. I have been a fan of this pair as well as the troop that Amari has reigned for a couple years now. Queen amari has been leader of her troop for several years and has ruled her troop with a tough but loving heart. Princess Lori has been thru so much and I pray she will be able to fight this battle ahead of her. I just wanted to say thank you so much for writing updates for us and sharing video footage , I know that you are extremely busy. Thank you for taking the time for Amari and Loris fans who are concerned. Bless you all for all you do for all these animals in need.
Thank you so much for your efforts to save little Lori’s life. Reading all these comments brought me to tears. She is such a fighter. I miss her so very much. She is so kind hearted and strong willed. I know you can pull through this babygirl. Come on your mama needs you. Love you so much ❤️❤️❤️ THANK U FOR THE UPDATE AND PLEASE KEEP THEM COMING.
Hello Staffers and Vets,
Thank you so much for the new update and video showing the arrival of Lori and Amari at the nursery facility. Amaro s safe now.
The accident Lori had resulted from a fall of 16 to 20 feet off the wall of the temple. A competing troop came through. Amari ran carrying Lori and flew off the wall because she is blind. Lori to the brunt of the fall because she was underneath Amari when she hit the stone floor below. After all Lori went through overcoming the head trauma in May, it is so tragic that Amari’s blindness caused another insult to her tiny body. Lori is such a fighter…. I am hoping your specialized care can bring her back to her happy life. She has inspired people around the world. I miss her greatly. Colorado Cares
To all supporters of Amari and Lori:
Please chill on telling these people what to do. They are experts and do not need any advice from non vets, who have never given medical care to a monkey. I would hate for them to stop posting because of the crazy comments they have been getting. They have been told Lori’s life story DOZENS of times. I am sure they were already aware. Please leave the conspiracys at the door. If you don’t know something to be 100% fact, please keep it to yourself. Peace.
Will be making a donation next payday for Amari and Lori’s care! Thank you sooooooo much for bringing them to your center! And thank you for this update!
Thanks for the update and will be donating to your center at next payday!
Thank you very much for the update! I have been watching Amari, daily for over a year and I have come to love her as I would one of my own pets (whom I love like my own children). I donated and will continue to donate on a weekly basis to help out. I know Amari and Lori are in good hands and you all will know the best course of treatment. God bless each and every one of you! BIG HUGS! <3 From Nashville, Tennessee. U.S.A. -Sam
P.s. Please ignore the crazy people comments. I have seen a few. There are some who think they are vets and will tell you what they think you should do to care for Amari and Lori and there are those who think everything is a conspiracy. There are people who watch the monkey videos, only to talk about how much they hate them and even some talk about how they wish certain ones would die. They are very twisted and sad humans. I would delete their comments if it gets too crazy for you.
Thank you for that. I’ve seen enough of the outrageous comments myself
A neighbor from Kentucky
Hi my name is Missy I have been watching Lori and Amari for over a year and well Lori since her birth in December of 2017 . Thank You kindly for stepping up to care for them I understand you are doing everything possible for these two please give Lori a chance and please don’t put her down i understand she has some serious injuries as she has before and yet she bounced back amazingly !!! The Vet that specializes in Monkey care wouldn’t have sent them to you if they thought you couldn’t provide the care they need but putting Lori down won’t give her the chance she so deserves !!! Id be willing to come from the states to get her to care for her before that would happen many of us has watched Lori for months if you could possibly make videos and updates on Lori’s care we could see to it proper funds be provided for Lori’s care we can even set up a go fund me account in care of Lori through your facility !!! However we would like updates on her care with videos to allow us to see her progress !!! Please consider the offer !!!We love Lori she’s been apart of our hearts and homes for sometime now!!!! Blessing to our little angel !!
Thank you for the update. I know it’s too early to tell Lori and Amaris prognosis, but I do hope you will take care of them whether Amari can see or Lori can walk. It’s heartbreaking to think they won’t get better but I am hoping for the best. They deserve all that can be done. It may be along road but so many people are willing to donate for their care and upkeep, myself included. Thank you. Please give Lori hugs from us and love her. Anytime one of the other babies would cry sweet Lori would run to hold them. She’s very special, and special to all of us who love her. Amari is too.
Thank you for replying to my email. It gave me great comfort to know you were willing to do what ever you could for them and that you understood how loved and deserving they are of your care. Amari was living a life of fear and most likely going hungry if no one handed her food because of her blindness. Please don’t give up on them.
Baby Lori Angkor Watt will never be the same without you but I hope you will pull through this and enjoy your new home and maybe if fully recovered you can go back. Get well soon you are greatly missed by your fans and your troop so much you will never know. The amount of lives you touched in such a short time is unbelievable. We will be checking in on you time to time and keep you in prayers little one. Keep on fighting…
Two thumbs down for one simple reason stop trying to tell people how to do their job, they don’t need your repetitive instructions on Lori’s care. Get a life or a hobby but stop with the asinine antics you grogan.
i’m so glad to have found you all. I haven’t been able to watch Monkey Camp since they left I got to love them both. Amari has a lovely face and Lori has been so brave going through hell and back.
I Hope she gets better with her present care I will donate to you
First, I want to say thank you for taking Amari and Lori. Second, the early prognosis with Lori is spinal injuries and nerve damage, have you seen a recovery (full or partial) for a animal with these injuries? I am also concerned with the many injuries she received on her head. Some say she recovered from the injury with the hit in the head by the park ranger, but she never was able to walk, climb a tree, and run after that happen. Do you think that there may be some injuries to the brain too? She has been through so many problems and I said many times that something is not right with her brain. Yes, I got really upset because they need to get her to a vet that had the equipment to do x-rays, CT scan, etc. to see what is going on. I am grateful that you took her. I just felt that she was suffering and I do not want to see any animal suffer. I have 8 dogs and 14 cats and it hurts me really bad when I have to take my babies to the vet and have them euthanized because they are suffering. When I call the vet to let them know what is going on, they have a full box of Kleenex waiting for me. I love animals and if I had a farm with lots of land, I would have many more. I understand that it is very hard to answer all of the comments, but I wanted to let you know. I will say that if Lori will not be able to have a full productive life, I hope that having to euthanized her will be considered. I hate to see her go, but I do not want her to suffer either.
Thank you,
Rayford Necaise
Thank you for the update. Lori’s holding steady it appears.
Thank you so much for the care Lori and Amari are receiving they are two special little monkeys.
Please, continue the wonderful care you are giving our little angel Lorie. We all miss and worry about her. Can’t wait ti hear she is doing well.
The government should help Angkor Wat – Cambodian animals, so that in this place where thousands of people go to visit, have a volunteer veterinarian. The propaganda of this park is distributed all over the land. The propaganda of this park to go feed wildlife is cruelty to them, since they have no immunity against the male viruses. That they make petition whatever it is, but that they have veterinary care even if it is sporadic or when some animal needs.Promote the region, save this monkeys! and instruct humans to wear masks on the visit. Not the cruelty of animals! I’m from Brazil. Diagnostic de Amari e Lori?
Villa,
I agree. There is something going on with the “Temple monkeys”. The main problem is speeding cars, but also, I have a bad feeling about the drama the VO’s feel the need to continually bring up. I do not believe all of the VO’s have the monkey’s best interests at heart, or even know what their best interests ARE! They need to be informed, given some guidelines on how to interact with these semi-wild animals. And no more mystery murders like Brutus…what the h*ll was that about?
You mentioned that Lori was having trouble feeding herself. She was only using one hand to feed herself before her tail was run over and before she had her last fall.

But it was Trip Adviser a year ago – way last year. Yeah I wish it were them. Maybe they will look like that in a year.
HELLO! 1ST AND FOREMOST,,,,,,PLEASE IGNORE THE TROLLS. ????They love to cause problems out of misery or not being brought up correctly (probably 12-14 yrs old) I appreciate EVERYTHING you are doing for these extremely loved monkeys, Amari and Lori. ???? Have you started a go fund me for them? Please hold Lori, she is priceless to us! Amari is a true intelligent queen who truly deserves being treated as one! God bless you and keep up the updates please,,,,,,I TRULY LOVE THEM. ?????
Good to see Lori and Amari getting proper veterinarian care as well as baby formula not cow’s milk for Lori. Maybe Amari won’t be so hungry from all the sugary fruits she use to eat all day good to see her getting veggies. Thanks to the VO’s for reaching out and finding them a place to heal .
I appreciate all the help in whatever way to get help for these monkeys. Oh,I love Lori so much without having ever seen her, just on videos. She is such a loving little baby and wanted to love on the other babies she lived around. All she ever wanted was to be hugged and feel comforted.. I hope you all can give her lots of hugs and baby her some. If I had a way I would have gone to Cambodia to see if I could buy her and bring her home with me. I will be donating money for Lori and Amari within the week. At least this way I can feel like I am still in her life and she in mine. Thank you all for your care for them. Betty in Tennessee, USA.
