I would like you to meet our somewhat elusive fishing cat! They are largely nocturnal and so we rarely see them out in the day as they are always tucked away sleeping! They are listed as a vulnerable species and not much is known about them in the wild. Fishing cats are threatened by destruction of wetlands, which are increasingly being polluted and converted for agricultural use and human settlements. Thankfully, the Cambodian Fishing Cat Project is currently doing research on this elusive species in the wild and we hope to partner with them for breeding and release into safe, suitable habitats for this stunning species in the near future!
