Wildlife Alliance concluded its support for the Royal Government of Cambodia’s Wildlife Rapid Rescue Team (WRRT) in September 2025.

Over the prior 24 years, Wildlife Alliance supported the team by strengthening its capacity in wildlife crime investigation, law enforcement and rescue operations, preparing it to operate independently under Cambodian government management.

Wildlife Alliance worked with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries to transfer assets, records and evidentiary materials. The Forestry Administration has taken full leadership of the team’s functions, including managing the wildlife crime hotline and a new Facebook page for reporting illegal wildlife trade.

Wildlife Alliance has focused its resources on forest and wildlife habitat protection through the Southern Cardamom and Samkos REDD+ projects. Protecting these forests is essential to conserving Cambodia’s biodiversity and providing suitable habitats for rescued wildlife to return to.

Wildlife Alliance is thankful to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the Forestry Administration, Military Police, Fisheries Administration and our donors for their support.

To report suspected wildlife crime, please contact the Forestry Administration directly through its public reporting channels.
