The rangers from Sun Bear Patrol station (Veal Pi) dismantle and collected 215 wildlife traps from the forest floor. The Sun Bear Station (Veal Pi) was relocated from its original location in Tatai in 2009. This was one of the two original stations that opened in 2002. When rangers first moved in and started protecting the area, they put huge pressure on the loggers. They have been extremely successful in this right, and now there is not much logging in the area. Today, the biggest threats facing the area are hunting and snaring.
