- Hours of work: This is a full-time position working approximately a 40 hour week between the hours of 7:30 and 5:30 depending on your assigned roster, including a weekend rotation.
Duties:
- The Wildlife Tour Coordinator’s role is split between guiding an award-winning behind the scenes tour at our wildlife rescue center or wildlife release station, and office-based administrative duties.
- Leading and supporting a behind the scenes tour of Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Center
- Leading and supporting an overnight stay tour of our Wildlife Release Station
- Supervising wildlife interactions to ensure the safety of animals and guests
- Managing bookings; including telephone calls, emails, social media messages and booking platforms
- Liaising with guests, hotels, booking agents, travel companies and donors
- Create and publish content across several social media platforms including; Patreon, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
- Identifying potential funding sources and approaching/applying for them, as well as participating in funding events and campaigns
- Develop and design conservation education materials for advertising or information centers
- Develop, source and implement animal enrichment and behavioral plans
- Driving and maintenance of the 12 seater tour van
Requirement:
- Fluent English – reading, writing and speaking
- Excellent customer service skills – personable, friendly, helpful
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience working in tourism, guiding or with animals
- Adaptable and good at problem solving
- Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
- Proficient in the use of Google Workspace and social media applications
- Should have D category in the driver’s license
Preferable
- Qualification in tourism or animal conservation/husbandry
- Experience working hands-on with wildlife
- Ability to drive a manual vehicle
- Ability to speak multiple languages (Khmer preferred, however French, Spanish etc.)
