In order to reach remote areas of the Cardamom Rainforest, Wildlife Alliance rangers often go on multi-day patrols, spending their nights camping in the forest. While on one of these long patrols, the Sun Bear Station (Veal Pi) rangers found four hunting camps, confiscated two homemade guns, and dismantled 349 wildlife snares and 250m of hunting nets. The hunters’ camps were empty because the poachers ran away leaving behind all of their belongings.
