About the Green Peafowl station

Major threats: Poaching (35%) and  Logging (65%)

The Green Peafowl Station (Sre Ambel station) is strategically located on a river near National Road 48 to intercept illegal timber being transported via boat from the Cardamom Mountains to the main road. Because the station is located directly on the river, loggers have begun transporting timber from the forest to the road through the surrounding communities. The station is located in a valley with many communities, so the rangers are not only intercepting transported timber but are also bombarded with local illegal land grabbing and logging.
