Sun Bear Station removed 150 animal traps from the forest floor.

The snares are made of rope or metal. The thickness and the strength depends on the targeted animal. To build them it’s a fast process, they are basically lassos  kept in tension by a branch and a trigger made out of bamboo.

Snares are the single greatest threat facing threatened species in Southeast Asia – a region supporting more threatened species than any area in the world.

Our forest rangers work tirelessly to protect some of the world’s most endangered animals in one of Southeast Asia’s last great rainforests.
