Another successful long patrol made by Wildlife Alliance Green Peafowl Station (Sre Ambel), the teams worked 3 nights and 4 days in the heart of Cardamom Mountains. The team confiscated 6 illegal chainsaws used for illegal logging, 3 homemade guns used for illegal hunting and dismantled 4 hunting camps. Homemade guns are popular among the poachers in Cambodia, used in illegal hunting and sometimes against our Rangers.

The Green Peafowl Station (Sre Ambel) is strategically located on a river near National Road 48 to intercept illegal timber being transported via boat from the Cardamom Mountains to the main road. Because the station is located directly on the river, loggers have begun transporting timber from the forest to the road through the surrounding communities. The station is located in a valley with many communities, so the rangers are not only intercepting transported timber but are also bombarded with local illegal land grabbing and logging.
