On January 9, 2020, our wildlife police unit rescued 466 lesser whistling ducks with clipped wings, 56 long tailed macaques, 3 common palm civets, and 2 water snakes from a wildlife trafficker in Kompong Thom Province, Cambodia. While a few animals were suitable for immediate release back into the wild, the vast majority will need to be cared for at Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Center until they recover or grow old enough to be released back into their natural habitat.

Caring for and rehabilitating these 500+ animals will cost an additional $1,000 per month until are able to be released. Most of the ducks have clipped wings that will take time to regrow and the majority of the monkeys are not old enough to care for themselves in the wild. We are raising funds on GlobalGiving to cover the additional financial strain caring for these animals will cost. Your support will provide food, housing, enrichment, and medical treatment for these animal on their journey to a life in the wild.
