Alliances
Wildlife Alliance is a single organization in a world facing global environmental threats. We leverage our resources by partnering with organizations that share a common purpose: to strengthen forest and wildlife protection to save threatened habitats and species.
At the global level, Wildlife Alliance is a founding member of the Coalition Against Wildlife Trafficking, working with other non-profits and governments to combat the scourge of the illegal wildlife trade. Our membership in the International Tiger Coalition works to protect tigers in the wild, and ensure that tigers are never sold for their parts on the global market. Since 2009, our Wildlife Rapid Rescue Team has partnered with the Association of South East Asian Nations Wildlife Enforcement Network to respond to the illegal trade of endangered species in Cambodia.
In Thailand, our partner, FREELAND Foundation strives to strengthen the protection of wildlife, combat illegal wildlife trafficking, and reduce consumption of threatened wildlife. Their programs build capacity to protect wildlife and habitats, improve wildlife law enforcement, and promote sustainable livelihoods for communities to live in harmony with their environment.
Our Russian partner, Phoenix Fund, works to protect the Amur tiger and leopard through anti-poaching and habitat protection activities. Phoenix Fund responds to conflict-tiger cases, compensates farmers who lose livestock to leopards and tigers, and sponsors education, outreach programs, publications, and festivals to foster support for endangered species conservation. Phoenix Fund’s work has successfully reduced tiger and leopard poaching and nearly doubled the total population of tigers living in the Russian Far East.
