Manny Medina
Manny was hired in April 2007 as the Technical Law Enforcement Advisor and U.S. Project Director for Wildlife Alliance's ASEAN-WEN Support Program project.
After serving in the U.S. Air Force and studying Criminal Justice, Manny was employed as a Conservation Ranger with the Georgia Department of Natural Resource for four years. He was then hired by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Division of Law Enforcement and was stationed in Florida and Arkansas, after which he served for twelve and a half years as the Supervisory Special Agent for the states of Kansas and Nebraska. During his 24-year wildlife enforcement career Manny conducted and/or supervised many large overt and covert investigations resulting in the apprehension and successful prosecution of hundreds of wildlife violators both in the U.S. and internationally.
Manny was also involved in the training of wildlife officers in the U.S. and abroad and in 2000 led the first law enforcement training efforts for the officers of the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador. Since that time, Manny conducted many other wildlife law enforcement courses and law enforcement needs assessments in South America.
Manny became associated with Wildlife Alliance, formerly WildAid, in 2001 and consulted on several Wildlife Alliance projects. He retired from government service in October of 2004.
Manny lives with his wife in Florida.
